A PRAYER FOR AUSTRALIA
Across all media channels, we’ve seen the images of the devastating blazes that have been ravaging our planet for the last 6 months: the Amazon, California, Siberia and now Australia — climate crisis is real. Fires and floods are nothing new but the sheer scale, ferocity and timing of the disasters we are currently seeing is alarming and is unmistakably our planet’s reaction to everything we‘ve been throwing at it. Are we still debating a climate crisis??
Australia has a special place in my heart. It’s where I spent 5 months with Nick 10 years ago, expanding our passion for wellbeing, learning to meditate (with Gary Gorrow) and celebrating my 30th. With the daily news, I find myself faced with a feeling of hopelessness at the scale of the crisis unfolding.
On Sunday night, I received a text message forwarded from my Panchakarma group in India asking people to join in a 3-minute prayer at 9 p.m. to visualise rains falling for Australia. 9 p.m. what timezone? What day are they referring to? It doesn’t matter — the point is things happen when we put energy into them. So imagine if hundreds, thousands, millions of us put all our positive intention into something. Not tears or despair or anger but actually turning that emotional passion, our energy, into a collective vibration of hope and positivity in a form of prayer if you like.
I want to share this call to action below for those who haven’t prayed, are not sure how to or worry that prayer has too many institutionalised religious connotations. Prayer as I understand it is turning inwards and connecting with our spiritual selves — the “what” that is doing the thinking, the very “thing” that science cannot qualify, the part of us that influences our thinking and recognises a greater power and intuitive deep connection with nature, others and our environment, the “God” state that resides in all of us.
So call it a rain dance if you must, but if like me you want to put that hopeless feeling into more positive action (it’s all energy; its just about reframing how we use it), then after donating, joining others around the world in a powerful visualisation is something you can do. Keep reading to find out exactly how.
As for donating, here is a list of organisations that could really use your help:
You doing something little doesn’t directly change the world, but taking action does send a ripple effect of energy that literally influences the world around us. And if that action is a step in the right direction, then that’s what we need to do. And imagine if millions of us do it.
Donate your change (and more), pray for change, meditate on change, be the change. To whoever wrote this, thank you xx
A Prayer for Australia
“At 9 p.m. TONIGHT, everyone is asked to please join for THREE MINUTES to pray for Australia. Visualise and ask for a ball of monsoon-type rain to fall — soaking every area where rains are falling — visualise the fires being put out and all the people and animals being safe — visualise the feeling of relief and smiles amongst the people as clean-up begins and the air clears…
Please pass this message on to anyone you know who would participate with us. The power of worldwide prayer is HUGE. Please do this, visualisation helps, and the Universe responds to our sincere prayers.
Don't feel this is irrelevant, please do this, mass prayers heal, and the Universe responds. Say ‘all is well, all is well’ repeatedly.”

You can widen this out, use this technique for any time when you are feeling hopeless or despairing or upset. It doesn’t matter that millions of people might not be doing it with you, the point is that you are repackaging your energy into something positive. You can re-channel your energy in a positive way and look to create change.
