FASHION WITH FEELING: KITX BY KIT WILLOW

I was so honoured to attend the Australian Fashion Council’s cocktail party for London Fashion Week on Saturday. The event celebrated both Australian designers and sustainability in fashion — something that is so, so important to me and on which I have spoken quite a bit in the past.

To mark the occasion, I wore a beautifully unique dress designed by the talented Kit Willow for her label KITX, which blends artisan craft, sustainable sourcing and luxury signature design. The pattern was created using an intricate Indian technique called bandhani, and the process brought a community of women together to save this age-old technique (it can be traced all the way back to 4,000 B.C.!). The dress is made out of organic fabric and held together with boning recycled from ocean plastic waste. VERY fashion-forward.
