MY FIRST AYURVEDIC RETREAT IN PORTUGAL WITH RED MAGAZINE
I have some truly exciting news to brighten up the grey skies: I’m hosting my first ever Ayurvedic retreat in Portugal next spring! This project has been brewing for a while and all the wheels are in motion to make this dream come true. The trip, which I developed with Red magazine, will take place over 5 days, from the 4th to the 8th of April 2019 at Longevity Cegonha Country Club in the Algarve region.
Each day will bring new restorative experiences: not only will you enjoy time out, self-care and a chance to recreate yourself and your story, you will come home feeling refreshed and excited, equipped with the tools you need to bring yourself back into balance while surfing the ebb and flow of daily life. Over the 5 days, we will immerse ourselves in gentle yoga classes, meditation sessions and a group hike into the surrounding nature; enjoy bespoke Ayurvedic meals adapted from East by West and an abhyanga or “hot oil” massage. During workshops with me, you will not only learn how to cook using the Ayurvedic wisdom but establish a daily morning routine of easy ancient rituals to start each day as you mean to go on, including a class on self-massage. As well as Ayurveda workshop, talks, Q&As and cooking demonstrations, I will lead two crystal alchemy singing bowls sound bath sessions as another way to ground and rejuvenate using sound therapy. On arrival, consult with an Ayurvedic practitioner who will help you to “find your Dosha” or natural mind-body type and any imbalances you might be experiencing so that throughout the retreat you can use this understanding of yourself to enhance your learnings and truly understand how to find mind-body balance.
