“A foundational practice in Ayurveda is building a dinacharya, a morning routine. This stabilizes the nervous system, regulates digestion, sleep and energy levels and creates consistency in the body. '‘
Ayurveda is a nurturing science that has connected me back to my most authentic Self by teaching me how to love all parts of myself and celebrate my wholeness. My journey to Ayurveda has been about trusting my intuition, which has meant listening and trusting my inner voice.
Like most healers, I was drawn to Ayurveda for a holistic approach to healing my physical imbalances of IBS and amenorrhea. Learning the science as an Ayurvedic Specialist always felt like a remembering of a sort. It came so easily to me as I know I’ve lived many lifetimes with this wisdom embedded in my system. The ease and flow of applying her intuitive principles to my life felt so effortless that I knew it was my calling to share it with others. In the beginning, my practice looked primarily like bringing my clients back to trusting themselves, their intuition and their bodies. Our bodies were meant to heal so as long as we align with our inner truth. Ayurveda is like a nurturing mother that guides us back to our truest self.
The more I learn from Ayurveda, I realize how the core principles are applicable to everything in life. Not only my diet and lifestyle choices, which I totally love creating new recipes and working with different spices, but specifically how I run my business. I have used Ayurveda as a guide to understanding how my body and my business are greatly intertwined. For example, a foundational practice in Ayurveda is building a dinacharya, a morning routine. This stabilizes the nervous system, regulates digestion, sleep and energy levels and creates consistency in the body. Here is a little taste of what my body-based dinacharya is. My day starts with warm lemon water every morning, tongue scraping, vedic meditation and journaling. I also have a dinacharya for my business that gives my business the structure and consistency it needs to thrive. Without a dinacharya, I am inconsistent, feel anxious and scattered and feel unclear in my business. However, when I ground into my business dinacharya, I feel clear, aligned and grounded. I acquire consistent clients and income and feel successful.
A little taste of my business dinacharya consists of structured time each week for content creation, budgeting/financing, teaching my clients, sharing my voice across multiple platforms and taking mid-day nature walks. Ayurveda has taught me that in order to thrive in my business, I need to take care of it with the same balanced energy I take care of my body. This has been what I am most passionate about teaching and sharing with my clients as it has allowed them to successfully launch their businesses and programs and build total trust in themselves as healers and spiritual entrepreneurs. I found that there were many talented healers out there, who know exactly how to heal their bodies, but they were feeling challenged in putting themselves out there with their business. I guide these women to come back to the trust they have in their bodies and use that and Ayurveda as a compass for building trust in their spiritual businesses.
If you are a healer and have a spiritual business, applying the fundamental principles of Ayurveda can bring you extraordinary benefits for understanding how to authentically bring your dharmic offerings out into the world. For those who do not identify as healers and spiritual entrepreneurs, I encourage you to explore how Ayurveda can apply to other areas of life like your relationships and career. For example, if you are looking to strengthen your current relationships, what daily rituals are you taking to fortify them? This could look like regular communication talks, scheduled time for fun and intimacy and/or daily emotional check-ins. If you are wanting to get a promotion at work, what daily rituals are going to bring you closer to that position? This could look like daily meditation to clear your mind and be more productive at work and/or using your authentic voice more during your team meetings.
What I love most about Ayurveda is that in understanding her core principles, we can dance with her wisdom and make it applicable and accessible to our life. It goes beyond just our recipes and lifestyle practices, it is the science of life. Listen to your body, hear the wisdom of Ayurveda and see how her magic can change your life.
